Interconnect started with two privately-owned Tier-3 data centres – now they’re expanding to a 10,000 square meter data centre with nearly 3,000 racks! The Netherlands-based customer, Interconnect, recently joined us for an in-depth conversation about their experience in migrating to EVPN/VXLAN.

Together with the help of Juniper Networks, Interconnect was able to scale its cloud data centres and wide-area DCI network services, all easily connected across multiple sites using EVPN/VXLAN. Next up, they’re accelerating business services while simplifying and streamlining network operations with automated configuration changes.

Interconnect’s original environment included multiple Juniper virtual chassis fabrics (VCF), along with Juniper virtual chassis and several standalone switches and routers. However, this environment operated at Layer 2 and didn’t scale well as the network expanded. Implementing a Clos-based IP fabric with EVPN-VXLAN was a game-changer for Interconnect. It enabled standards-based multi-pathing and multi-homing within data centre fabrics for server access and between data centres.
